Chitipa beat Bangwe to go top – Capital Radio Malawi

Chitipa United have moved to top position in the TNM Super League following their 2 nil win away to Bangwe All Stars on Wednesday.

Having played 21 games thus far, the northern region side have 39 points, leaving Bullets on second position with 37 points from 18 games.

Bangwe are still seventh on the standings with 28 points from 21 games.

Chitipa had their goals through Lorenzo Ghedo at 80 minutes and Godfrey Kwiyoka who scored in the added minutes just before the end of the match.

After the match, Bangwe coach Abel Mkandawire said; “we had a lot of chances but we were just unlucky to have not scored. I believe next time we will do better after ironing out the shortfalls which we have seen.”

His counterpart from Chitipa Macdonald Mtetemera praised his charges for the victory.

“I am happy that we have managed to collect maximum points on our away assignment. My boys played according to instructions. They were just exceptional,” said Mtetemera.

Elsewhere, Mafco were 2 nil winners over Civil Service United at Chitowe Stadium courtesy of a Stain Malata’s brace.
