A police officer will spend next 8 years in prison after a Magistrate Court in Malawi's central region of Ntcheu found him guilty on charges of attempted robbery.

Police are speaking strongly against continued cases of mob justice in the country.

The magistrates’ court in Nkhatabay has sentenced a 23 year old man to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour after finding him guilty of defiling a 13 year old girl.
