The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) has a new Chief Executive Officer.
He is Francis Chinjoka Gondwe.
A published statement signed by the President of the Institute Henry Chowawa says Gondwe started work on the 1st of this month.
He replaces Evelyn Mwapasa who left the Institute at the end of March to join ESCOM.
According to Chowawa, the new CEO brings to the Institute vast technical and leadership experience, having been a partner at Public Accountants AMG Global and also having served as Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Malawi-CHAM.
ICAM is a professional accountancy body which was established out of a merger of the Public Accountants Examination Council of Malawi (PAEC) and the Society of Accountants in Malawi (SOCAM).
This followed the passing and coming into effect of the Public Accountants and Auditors Act (Act No.5 of 2013).
ICAM is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).
