Patients are raising concern over the withholding of medical services by the Blantyre Adventist Hospital – BAH to those on various medical aid schemes.

The public had been expressing worry with the development as most have been paying their monthly dues for their respective schemes.

The schemes are those offered by Medical Aid Society of Malawi MASM, Metropolitan Health, Horizon Health and Liberty Health.

Reliable sources have confided in Capital FM that the medical aid scheme providers have not been remitting funds to the hospital, adding that they owe BAH a combined total fee of over 1 billion kwacha.

This means that patients on medical aid schemes will have to pay for the services at the hospital on cash basis.

Blantyre Adventist Hospital representatives could not divulge much, stressing that the development is due to unattainable increase in tariffs.

The hospital is believed to be facing financial constraints, and has relieved 53 employees of their duties.

Currently, a MASM client on VIP pays MK18, 500 while those on Executive scheme are contributing MK 7,500 a month.

Meanwhile, a statement has been jointly issued by the medical aid companies advising clients seeking medical attention at BAH to pay cash and submit claims to their respective medical insurer who shall reimburse.

Some have told Capital FM that they were worried about how long it would take for their cash to be reimbursed once the medical aid providers had sorted out the situation.

MASM Chief Executive Officer was not available for comment as he was outside the country.

Sydney Chikoti referred the matter to the company’s Chief Operations Officer who refused to comment on behalf of all the other schemes.

Dorica Chirwa explained: “As medical aids we have all issued a press statement and it speaks for all of us together.”

Thanks for sharing your ideas. A very important factor is that students have a selection between government student loan plus a private education loan where it really is easier to go with student loan debt consolidation reduction than with the federal education loan.

I have seen a great deal of useful factors on your web-site about pcs. However, I have the view that laptops are still less than powerful adequately to be a wise decision if you frequently do jobs that require many power, including video editing and enhancing. But for web surfing, word processing, and a lot other typical computer work they are perfectly, provided you never mind the tiny screen size. Appreciate sharing your thinking.
