Representatives of the government and the opposition in Malawi reveal that they are closely following developments in Kenya where general elections are currently underway.

The contest pits incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta against his long-time rival, Raila Odinga.

The election is seen as too close to call as both candidates held intense campaigns prior to today’s voting.

Malawi and Kenya share some political history as they both were under British colonial rule before gaining Independence in the early 1960s.

According to both the government and the opposition, elections in Kenya are very vital for Malawi as there would be lessons to be learnt in various fronts, including preparations and the whole electoral process.

Speaking to Capital FM leader of opposition in parliament Lazarus Chakwera disclosed that being a global village, if everything goes well Malawi will borrow a leaf from them and emulate in our upcoming elections.

Governemtn Spokesperson Nicholus Dausi said they hope that the elections go well because Malawi has a good relationship with Kenya.

Long queues have been reported at many polling stations in Kenya, with some people having waited all night to cast their ballots.

In the presidential election, the incumbent, Uhuru Kenyatta is being challenged by his long standing rival, Raila Odinga, and six other candidates.

Odinga has expressed doubts about the integrity of the electronic voting system, and security is tight.

now each time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment.
There has to be a way you are able to remove me from that service?
    Appreciate it!

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting
my own blog and was curious what all is required to get set up?

I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost
a pretty penny? I'm not very internet savvy so I'm not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
