As voting continues for this year’s Nyasa Music Awards the organizers for the event have encouraged people to vote for their artist.
The voting lines were opened on Wednesday for both TNM and Airtel lines and will be closed on the first day of the month of May.
One of the organisers for the event Chifundo Maganga encourages people to vote for their favourite artists to avoid disappointment when the results are finally out.
“All I ask is for people to vote so that they don’t get disappointed. You know at the end of the day people get disappointed but they don’t vote so they start blaming it on other people,” the organiser said.
From the 24 categories, six more than last year, Capital FM’s Panther Rix is also one of the nominees in the Best Radio DJ category.
2018 becomes the second year; the radio connoisseur has been nominated in a row in the same category.
Excitement was a prevalent motion to the celebrity when he was asked about how he has received this year’s nomination.
“I am proud to be nominated in a row in the same category and of course among the four colleagues. Let the best person win,” said Panther Rix.
Other nominees include Gwamba, Fredokiss, Tay Grin, Theo Thomson and Macelba for the best male artist category.
While Atohti Manje’s Che Patuma and Wangongole by Janta will battle it out for the song of the year award.
South Africa’s openly gay entertainer Somizi Mhlongo will be the official host for the event alongside Malawi’s Judith Msonthi popularly known as Judie Emcee.
