The woman allegedly ganged up with her 16 year old son to beat up the man who consequently died.
Confirming the development to MANA, Phalombe Police Publicist Augustus Nkhwazi disclosed that the issue is currently still under investigation.
Nkhwazi however explained that reports indicate the woman, Esnart Chinangwa and her son allegedly beat the deceased, over household disagreements.
He added that neighbours rescued the man from the two assailants and took him to Nambazo Health Centre where he was admitted and died the following day.
A postmortem that was conducted at the Health Centre revealed he died of internal bleeding.
Chinangwa is currently awaiting a court appearance where she will answer charges of murder.
Phalombe lies about 85 kilometres from Malawi’s commercial capital Blantyre.
