Gemini Major's Homecoming To Malawi This November

South Africa based Malawian artist, Gemini Major, has been announced as a headliner of the 2016 UMP Festival set for November 6 in Blantyre.

Gemini Major becomes the second international act to headline the fifth edition of the UMP after, Pop Dogg, a Malawian born rapper based in Ireland.

A rising star on the African music scene, Gemini Major, born Benn Kamoto, moved to Durban in 2009 to pursue a career in music.

Since then he has worked with various artists including Nigeria’s 2 Face, South African rappers Cassper Nyovest and Khuli Chana.

Some of his pieces makings round on continental music channels, MTV Base-Africa, Trace Urban-Africa and Channel O include "Badmanting", "Bumpy Ride" and "Ragga Ragga".

Signed under Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree record company, the 26-year-old is currently working on his debut album.

The Urban Music Party (UMP) festival celebrates Malawi's urban music, lifestyle and culture and incorporates the UMP Awards, a ceremony that recognizes Malawi’s exceptional urban music talent.
