Malawi's First Online Wedding Directory Now Live Featured

“You many now kiss the bride.” An online wedding directory, which seeks to help couples, wedding planners and patrons make that “I do” moment stress free has gone live in Malawi.

In a press statement made available to Capital FM, administrators of thevowdirectory.com indicate that the idea behind the site came about because of people’s frustrations over delayed service delivery and complaints on quality of events like engagements, bridal showers, conferences and parties.

“During wedding planning, most decisions are marred with emotion without enough financial prudence. The options on The Vow are such that, couples and everyone involved in the planning stage, get all the resources they need to make informed choices that are in line with their budget,” explains the statement released on 5 April.

A brain child of Edward and Prudence Governor, the online wedding directory provides planners and patrons a list of vendors who offer various wedding services including tailors, clothes rentals, photographers, decorators, venues and cake makers.

Mr. and Mrs. Governor add that thevowdirectory.com exists to create a competitive Malawian wedding industry, make the art of planning events easier, provide tips on wedding planning, inspire small business owners in the wedding industry to improve their businesses and create jobs.

The Malawian couple envisions the growth of wedding planning in Malawi which is fast becoming a very lucrative industry.

“We look forward to having the Vow Annual Awards, Malawi’s wedding industry report and workshops of various supplier categories by inviting international suppliers.”

According to the Governors, the Vow, as a business, understands the challenges that come with wedding planning.

The family says it believes in the fact that “weddings must be enjoyed and not endured”.

A conviction that makes the duo take a long stride to get wedding planners resources that they need for the big day.

In Malawi weddings provide a time for family and friends to meet, interact and share rare moments but usually challenges arise in the areas of quality, time management and financial resources.
