Written by  manaonline.gov.mw Mar 28, 2017

Police are speaking strongly against continued cases of mob justice in the country.

This comes after an angry mob in Lilongwe last Sunday killed a 39 year-old man suspected of stealing cattle.

Lilongwe Police publicist, Kingsley Dandaula confirmed the incident to the Malawi News Agency.

Dandaula disclosed that the man, identified as Chipiliro Kadengo was caught after days of evading the law.

According to Dandaula, Kadengo’s family thought he had been taken to police, only to discover that he was dead.

While in the southern region district of Nsanje an evangelist, James Gwanda who is popularly known by the alias, God Answers survived a mob scare.

Locals accused the pastor of kidnap.

The angry mob stormed the pastor’s house demanding a search of the missing person.

However police revealed that the missing person was not found after searching the faith leader’s house.
