Representatives of Smile Life Insurance Company Limited have retaliated commitment in ensuring that security agents in the country are working in a conducive environment.

This comes as the company has handed over a shelter to Malawi Police Service.

The shelter, fully furnished with items worth over MK3 Million has been constructed at Chingeni Police Road block in Balaka district.

Speaking to Capital FM, the company's Chief Executive Officer stated that they decided to construct the structure because the road block had a single shelter which made discharging of duties difficult.

Stain Singo added that the company will stretch the corporate social responsibility to other government agencies hence enhancing development in the country.

"As a Malawian owned company, we believe in sharing with the corporate world with whatever we have.

As such we will take part in developing our country in one way or the other hence will extend to other agencies to ensure that there is meaningful development in Malawi.”

Police in the district say construction of the shelter will assist in providing a comfortable working environment for the officers.

Balaka Police Officer In-charge disclosed that security will also be guaranteed at the place and surrounding areas since it will promote availability of officers all year round regardless of the season.

Benfrey Kamanga pledged to take maximum care of the shelter hence calling the public to also take part in taking care of the facility as it will serve them both.

This is not the first time Smile Life Insurance Company Limited has extended its corporate social responsibility to Malawi Police Service as well as the public at large.

Three years ago the company donated computer sets to Balaka Police Station as well as at Zalewa Police Road block respectively.

To add on that, the company currently is maintaining Zebra Crossings at Namiwawa Primary School in Blantyre City to make it easier and safe for children to cross the road as they go to school.

Smile Life Insurance Company Limited is owned and managed by professional Malawians.

Its primary objective is to make life insurance affordable to most Malawians thereby increasing market penetration of life insurance products for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Some of its tailor-designed products include; Group Life Assurance Schemes (GLAS), Group Mortgage Insurance Schemes (GMIS), Group Funeral Insurance Schemes (GFIS) and Group Credit Life Assurance Schemes (GCLAS).
