Vice President Saulos Chilima intensifies the inspection of development projects to appreciate the state of implementation and progress made.
This follows continued reports of contractors failing complete projects according to timelines.
Currently, there are over 300 public projects under implementation across the country.
On Monday this week, Chilima visited Nkhotakota to check progress of the Msulira-Nkhotakota Road which has missed its deadline by 16 months.
According to Chilima, all the challenges that have led to the delay will be ironed out so that the Contractor, Shire Construction, proceed with the work in the shortest period possible.
He also stopped at Nkhotakota boma where he spoke with beneficiaries of affordable fertilizer to see the challenges that they are encountering.
Chilima discovered that the beneficiaries are travelling long distances to access the fertilizer but he promised them that they will be able to access the fertilizer from ADMARC depots across the country.
He also visited the JCM Solar Power plant in Salima which will be producing 60 Megawatts by April 2021.
This comes against the background of continued power challenges which ESCOM claims is as a result of low water levels in the Shire river.
