A 27-year-old woman is in police custody at Bangwe police for allegedly killing her husband by stabbing.

It is said on December 20, Ethel Harry had a misunderstanding with her husband Charles Malizani over family issues which resulted in a fight.

The wife stabbed her husband with a knife on the stomach and he immediately collapsed.

He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where he died on January 8, this year.

A post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was internal bleeding due to a stab wound.

Malizani hailed from Machinjiri Township in Blantyre.

Deputy Spokesperson for Limbe Police Widson Nhlane reveals that the suspect will be charged with murder.

He advises family members to report their misunderstandings to marriage counsellors or the police for a possible solution other than fighting.

The suspect comes from Makwiza village Traditional Authority Makhuwira in Chikwawa district.
