The Malawi National Examinations Board-MANEB has suspended the examination calendar for the 2020 Primary School Leaving Certificate-PSLC and Malawi Schools Certificate of Education-MSCE exams.

These Standard 8 and Form 4 final examinations were supposed to be administered in May and June respectively.

But with the closure of schools due to fears of the coronavirus, MANEB has announced the suspension of the examination calendar.

President Mutharika ordered the closure of schools last Friday, as a precaution measure against the deadly virus.

The president has also ordered controlled social gatherings, to a maximum 100 people.

Malawi does not have a confirmed case but over 500 people are in self-quarantine having travelled from countries affected by the pandemic.

In a statement, MANEB officials have indicated that the new timetable will be released when schools open.

PSLCE candidates are therefore advised to safely keep their examination identity cards.
