Police arrest 12 for Buleya Lule murder

Twelve police officers have been arrested in connection with the murder of Buleya Lule in February last year.

Lule aged 44, died in police custody in Lilongwe due to torture and electrocution.

He was a suspect in the abduction and killing of a 14-year-old boy with albinism in Dedza district.

In a statement, the national police spokesperson James Kadadzera reveals that they have received Lule’s case file that was referred to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions-DPP for perusal and legal advice.

According to Kadadzera, the DPP has directed that all police officers implicated in the death of Buleya Lule be prosecuted.

The officers will appear in court on Monday, next week.
