The National Bank of Malawi plc has temporarily closed its Chichiri Service Centre after several members of its staff there tested positive for Covid-19.

The service centre is expected to remain shut for the next 14 days during which the premises will undergo disinfection to ensure safety of customers and employees when it reopens.

Currently, all NBM Chichiri Service Centre staff members have been placed on self-quarantine and those who have tested negative will be retested in a fortnight prior to reopening.

According to a statement issued by NBM authorities, all staff members that tested positive will only resume work upon full recovery and being certified negative by health authorities.

Meanwhile the bank is encouraging its customers to use its digital banking channels including Mo626 Ice, Mo626 Digital + and Banknet 360 in order to bank safely.
