Former President Peter Mutharika’s chief bodyguard, Norman Chisale will remain on remand at the Chichiri prison as he waits for a ruling his bail application set for next Monday.

This follows a High Court decision made today in Blantyre.

High Court judge Sylvester Kalembera has reserved his judgment on bail application by Chisale who is top aide for Mutharika.

The matter was being held today in chambers.

Chisale who is answering an attempted murder case is being accused of shooting a woman called Sigele Amani in Blantyre.

He was rearrested last week Friday right after he was given bail on money laundering and fraud cases.

On Monday, Chief resident Magistrate Simeon Mdeza approved a remand for the accused as per an application by the state.

Next week Monday will mark exactly two weeks and two days of Chisale’s stay in the cooler.
