Former President Peter Mutharika’s personal security aide, Norman Chisale, is set to be transferred to Lilongwe today after spending last night at Chilomoni Police Station.

The cops rearrested Chisale yesterday at Chichiri Prison within minutes of his release on bail in an attempted murder case.

His latest arrest, however, is related to the murder of former ACB official Issa Njaunju some years ago.

Chisale has been in police or prison custody for over two weeks now since his first arrest on 14 July in relation to a K5 billion fraudulent cement importation scandal.

Meanwhile, former State House Chief of Staff Peter Mukhito has also spent the night in the cooler following his arrest in Lilongwe yesterday, apparently for his role in the same cement saga.

Confirming Mukhito’s arrest to Capital FM, national police spokesperson James Kadadzera declined to disclose the charges laid against the once Inspector General of the law enforcement agency.
