Two arrested for illegal possession of ivory

Police in Dedza are keeping in custody two men for possessing eight tusks of ivory.
The two are Aaron Dyson, 26, and Paul Jekita aged 29.
 
Dyson was arrested on Friday last week at Dedza Police roadblock and Jekita was arrested the following day in Blantyre.
 
Dedza Police Spokesperson Edward Kabango discloses that Dyson was arrested after officers manning the roadblock found pieces of ivory in his car.
 
He later mentioned his counterpart Jekita as the one who had given him the tusks five of which are from Kasungu and three from Mozambique.
 
The two have since been charged with a case of being found in possession of specimen of listed species will appear in court soon.
