State Vice President Saulos Chilima is stressing the government’s resolve to offload all nonperforming heads of parastatal bodies.

Chilima, who doubles as Public Sector Reforms Minister, made the remarks Tuesday on the sidelines of a meeting with various parastatal and local council heads based in the northern region.

The purpose of the meeting was to appreciate the impact of public sector reforms and to provide direction on new reform areas which the institutions will embark on to make them efficient and effective.

Chilima stressed that the next generation will hold today’s leaders to account if they fail to rebuild the nation despite all the natural resources endowed therein.

He warned the CEOs that his government will not hesitate to replace non-performers so that the country can move forward with competent people in right positions.

Today, the veep will engage the private sector as well as small and medium enterprises in the region to discuss and seek their views on the role they can play in implementing the reforms agenda.
