The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 is appealing to the public not to be complacent following the lessening of new Covid 19 cases.

The country is currently registering low numbers of new cases, with only 2 cases recorded yesterday, 59 recoveries and no new death.

Co-Chairperson of the Taskforce John Phuka insists that people should continue practicing all the Covid 19 prevention measures.

“There is need to identify and isolate or care for those in need of treatment to further improve the number of recoveries,” Phuka stressed.

He further urged contacts of known cases to self-quarantine to further limit the transmission of the virus.

In total, Malawi has recorded 5,655 Covid 19 cases out of which 1, 796 are active cases, 3, 683 recoveries and 176 deaths.
