Construction of Neno-Tsangano road starts November

Construction of the K6.6 billion Neno-Tsangano road project is set to start by November this year.
Roads Authority Spokesperson Portia Kajanga has confirmed.
Kajanga adds that the project is now on and would be implemented by China Geo Engineering Corporation.
Expected to conclude within 18 months, the project will open up the hilly southern region district which is effectively cut off and isolated from the rest of the country.
Various regimes have for the past several decades failed to deliver on the promise to build the road which could release Neno’s agricultural potential by eliminating logistical challenges that disrupt supply chain activities.
Member of Parliament for Neno South, Mark Katsonga Phiri, who is also one of the advocates for the road project could not hide his excitement, adding that this is what the people of the district have been waiting for.
