Flames off to Ouagadougou

The Malawi Football National Team has left for Ouagadougou for an AFCON qualifier against Burkina Faso on Thursday.

Coach Meke Mwase has named a 23 member squad comprising 8 foreign based players and 15 locals.

However, Orlando Pirates forward, Frank Gabadinho Mhango will not be part of the two assignments as he is currently nursing an injury.

Gaba sustained the injury in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final in South Africa.

Mwase is optimistic that the team will deliver.

They are expected to play a return match at the Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre next Monday.

The team left earlier today, in the company Minister of Sports Ulemu Msungama.
