The Senior Resident Magistrates Court in Lilongwe has granted bail to Energy Minister Newton Kambala and two others.
The 3 were arrested on Monday in connection to the National Oil Company (NOCMA) fuel contracts scandal.
They are accused of conspiring to influence NOCMAs Deputy CEO Hellen Buluma in awarding oil supply contracts.
Kambala is answering charges of abuse of public office and attempting to influence a public officer to abuse her office.
The other 2, AFORD leader Chihana and Presidential aide Chris Chaima Banda have also been charged with attempting to influence a public officer to abuse an office.
The senior officers have all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Senior Resident Magistrate Florence Msekandiana has since granted the three bail, on condition that they pay a cash bond of K200 thousand each, and present two sureties to pay a non-cash bond of K10 Million.
Furthermore, they are also supposed to surrender their travel documents and report to the Anti-Corruption Bureau every fortnight.
