Lilongwe sex worker nabbed for alleged defilement

Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly defiling two boys aged four and 15.

The suspect is a sex worker and has been identified as Christina Masina.

According to Foster Benjamin who is deputy spokesperson for Lilongwe Police, Masina committed the offence on Monday night at Chigwirizano. Benjamin explains that Masina used to invite the victims, who are the children of her fellow colleagues, to sleep at her house on security grounds when she went out to ply her trade.

When she returned home on Monday night she went to sleep after finding the boys asleep as well. Masina claims that during her slumber she dreamt that she was having sexual intercourse with the boys.

She told the boys about the odd dream and then forced them to sleep with her.

The boys later narrated their ordeal to their mothers who in turn reported the matter to Chigwirizano Community Policing Forum.

The community policing team apprehended the suspect and turned her in to the police.

The police have since charged her with sexual activities with children, contrary to Section 160 of the Penal code.
