Malawi govt cancels MSCE exams

This year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations have been cancelled.

It follows massive leakage this week of exam scripts that the candidates were supposed to sit for beginning Monday.

More than 154,000 students began their national examinations last week and re-administration is expected in March next year.

Speaking at a press breifing in Lilongwe, Minister of Education Agnes Nyalonje revealed that decision to cancel the MSCE exams is expected to cost the government MK4.4 billion to have them re-administered next March.

Meanwhile, over 30 students have  been arrested across the country in connection with the leakage of national secondary school exam.
