Some office equipment have been stolen from a building housing the office of the Vice President Saulos Chilima in Lilongwe.
The incident happened on Sunday night at Capital Hill but was reported and confirmed yesterday by Chilima’s office.
According to his Spokesperson Pilirani Phiri, the stolen items include a Computer monitor, Central Processing Units-CPUs and a radio.
But Phiri indicates that the stolen items are from the office of the Director of Administration, which is also housed in the same building.
He explains that the building has two wings with the first wing having the Veep’s offices and the Principal Secretary.
The other wing houses the office of the Director of Administration, Special Assistants to the Vice President and the entire administration personnel.
There was no immediate comment from the police on this incident which comes barely a month after another reported ransack at the Veep’s office.
The vice president has been victim to such incidents, as his office was also attacked some months ago, and before that, there was an attempted robbery at his states residence during the previous regime.
